Policy Overview

We care very much about Launchpad's accessibility, but we need to balance that with the many other things that we care very much about. This policy says how.

In a nutshell

  • Any new development work must conform to at least AA level accessibility on w3c's three-level scale

  • Any existing accessibility problems that are reported will be triaged as High priority bugs if they are A or AA level
  • Any lack of AAA conformity will be triaged as Low priority

Every bug is a unique and delicate snowflake and so apply discretion and common sense. For example, a bug might be AAA level accessibility, but it might also be colossally annoying for everyone who uses Launchpad. Use the above a framework for handling issues that are motivated purely by a concern for accessibility.
