This page is a home for Value-Stream Maps (VSM) that were created starting in 2009. The idea is to collect information about how efficiently certain development activities are flowing.

Contact-A-Team

This VSM reflects effort done by the Registry team in late 2008 and early 2009 to add a "contact a team" feature to Launchpad.

As per discussions with Curtis Hovey, this activity was begun without spending any time analyzing customer requirement options. An implementation was begun and that feature turned out not to meet customer expectations. Thus, the effort had to be redone. Once better customer requirements were understood, the rework process started and was completed in a very short amount of time.

The take away from this VSM and associated story is that team should be encouraged to work through customer requirement options before leaping into coding.

AJAX UI Enhancements - 2009

This VSM reflects effort done by the Bugs team in late 2008 and early 2009 to "AJAXify" the bug page.

Although the data in this VSM is not detailed enough, one can still take away a few key concepts:
